About
A small shop with strong opinions.
Bahuckel is built by a small independent developer who wanted a transparent, self-hosted alternative to closed platforms: something you can audit, extend, and run without handing your community's data to a third party.
What we care about
- Self-hosting first. You pick the hardware, the jurisdiction, and the policies. We do not operate a central service that reads your messages.
- Native software. Desktop clients that start fast and stay small. Purpose-built network paths instead of a browser engine doing the heavy lifting.
- Security that is on by default. Modern handshakes, sealed media, encrypted storage, explicit settings. Never a silent downgrade.
- Honest documentation. Clear about what the software does and does not do, and what is still beta.
Open where it can be
Bahuckel Relay is MIT-licensed. BahuckelDiag is proprietary because it is headed for paid tiers. Every project page states its licence up front, and third-party notices ship with every release.
